The Benefits and Uses of Natural Stones
Those who love and understand natural stones are acutely aware that each stone has a set of properties that differentiates itself from others. In ancient times, people believed that gemstones carried health and spiritual benefits. Some civilizations used gemstones to facilitate the flow of energy through the body. Even today, many people acknowledge their benefits. These are used in spiritual practices that promote a different type of healing. For example, some use certain gemstones to restore a balance of energy to the body, promote well-being, and the feeling of peace.
Based on the composition of the stone, these can help a person achieve homeostasis in different aspects of the human body, mind, and spirit. One of the reasons stones can have a profound effect on humans is because the body is made up of cells and these can resonate with the same silicon-dioxide makeup of crystals. Therefore, such materials can cause a vibratory effect based on the laws of physics through the transfer and flow of energy. Each stone, however, has a different chemical composition that can produce differing effects.
Types of stone and their properties
Tiger Eye
The Tiger Eye crystal is made up of quartz and forms when the materials take over the crocidolite, dissolving over said mineral and giving it a finely fibrous form. The gemstone helps promote power by countering toxic emotions. Apart from bold healing properties, Tiger Eye energizes people to give a sense of freedom that eliminates the negative energy of self-doubt.
Black Tourmaline
Black Tourmaline is made up of elbaite. They are produced in deep underground voids that are hot and rich in minerals and form when the liquids begin to cool. Black tourmaline is well-known for its cleansing properties. The stone balances energy and is a great source of purification.
Red Jasper
Jasper is a variety of microcrystalline quartz mixed with other materials and forms in different environments, such as the cracks of volcanic rocks. Red Jasper, specifically, is a variety of quartz with a brick red color. When situations bring a high degree of stress, this gem helps stabilize the body by restoring energetic balance. Red Jasper is a nurturer that helps control anxiety to promote focus and encouragement.
Sodalite Stone
This Sodalite Stone is named after its sodium content and forms in silica-poor rocks in the cavities of expelled volcanic chunks, in metasomatized calcareous rocks, phonolites, and other similar formations. Also known as the harmonizer, the stone is perfect for helping develop trust and communication and does so by increasing awareness and intuition.
Natural stone jewelry
Natural stone jewelry has been around for millennia, and its uses have been well established in documented history dating as far back as 4000 BC. For example, the ancient Egyptians believed that Red Jasper had the characteristic of assisting with fertility, and, in turn, developed jewelry to promote the property. Other cultures recognized the different qualities and decorative uses of the stone and developed beautiful pieces that adorned their wardrobe. Today, we continue these traditions with the development of spectacular pieces that complement any fashion style while also providing the benefits that the gemstones are well-known for.
Our stones are mined from quarries in Brazil, Russia, Turkey, and Canada, and are extracted using a high-speed wire cutting system that ensures care, accuracy, and quality. The resulting stone is then moved to a processing plant where it is cut into slabs. Afterward, gang saws are used to cut through the stone while water controls the resulting dust. This process takes approximately two days. Once the stab is fully processed, the items are sent for polishing. What results from the laborious process are between 20 and 28 different types of stones carefully selected and handled to produce some of the finest jewelry pieces sure to fit every style and budget.
